In the spring, the Vipava Valley comes alive with vibrant colors and fresh energy, offering a perfect setting for outdoor adventures and cultural exploration. You can embark on scenic hikes through blossoming vineyards and lush orchards, where the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers fills the air. The valley’s gentle hills and picturesque trails are ideal for cycling, allowing you to explore charming villages and historical sites along the way. As the landscape bursts into life, the Vipava Valley invites you to immerse yourself in its natural beauty and rich traditions. Spring is also the perfect time to fly in tandem from the nearby Kovk or Lijak take-off since the winter winds calms down, yet the air is still active enough to keep you above the ground – a great opportunity to finally fulfill your desire to fly – even if you have no experience. During a carefree flight over the slopes of the Trnovo Plateau, you can admire stunning views stretching across the Karst to the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps in the north. In spring you can also go horseback riding along flat trails, through forest, around the hills of the Vipava Valley, and up to the Nanos Plateau with Ranč Tunink.
Spring is also a time for wine lovers to visit local wineries, where you can taste the first wines of the season, paired with seasonal delicacies. In April, don’t miss the opportunity to attend an event near our accommodation – Druženje s Pinelo, where you can taste Pinela from Vipava winemakers, or the Šempas Wine Festival, which showcases top winemakers from all three Slovenian wine regions, as well as from across the border, alongside local olive growers. The highlight of the season is undoubtedly the Okusi Vipavske, festival of wine and cuisine, where the most successful producers of unique flavors from the entire Vipava Valley come together.
